Retirement and thanksgiving service has been held for Rev. Daniel Clarence Papa Nii Quansah and wife to bring to an end their 29 years in active ministry. The occasion was held on Sunday 24th November, 2019 at Official Town Assemblies of God, Odorkor in the Greater Accra West region. Until his retirement, Rev. Quansah was a supporting minister at the above-mentioned church. The occasion brought together several high profile ministers and well-wishers across the country including Rev. Dr. Sam Ato Bentil, General Treasurer and Rev. Peter Bandim, the National Pensions Administrator, Regional and District executives of Accra East and West regions and several Ministers of the gospel.

Various goodwill messages were read on behalf of Assemblies of God Ghana, from the region, district and local church where he served. In his goodwill message, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso in a statement acknowledged Rev. Quansah’s contributions to Assemblies of God, Ghana. He also recognized his humility and dedication in the propagation of the gospel and expressed his appreciation on behalf of AG Ghana for such commitment and congratulated the couple for their selfless service. Rev. Frimpong-Manso concluded by wishing them good health, long life and a fulfilling retirement. The regional Superintendent also eulogized the faithfulness and diligence of Rev. Quansah.

Several gifts were also presented to the couple including an end of service package delivered by Rev. Bandim to the couple on behalf of AG Ghana. The region, district and the local church as well as the departments took turns to show their appreciation and also made donations to the couple.

Rev. Quansah in his closing remarks expressed his appreciation to the Almighty God for counting him worthy of His calling. He also expressed gratitude to the Executive Presbytery of AG General Council, Greater Accra West and East executives, the Kaneshie District executives and the Official Town AG head Pastor and board members. He also acknowledged the support and endurance of his wonderful wife and children. Finally, he extended his sincere thanks to all those who came to support him with their substance and presence.

Assemblies of God Ghana in 2014 reviewed and implemented a revised policy to retire Ministers who turn 65. This policy seeks to give retired Ministers a befitting retirement package after serving the organization and this has been an improvement on the old policy.

PROFILE OF REV. DANIEL CLARENCE PAPA Nil QUANSAH

Rev. Daniel Clarence Papa Nii Quansah was born to Mr. Robert Chaaku Quansah and Madam Dedei Tettey, all of blessed memory on 30th March, 1956 in estate No. 148, chorkor. He is the second child and first boy of seven children. Rev. Daniel Quansah started his elementary school education at Abossey-Okai Methodist Primary school from 1962-1968. He then continued at Hansen Road Methodist Boys Middle school from 1968-1972, where he got his middle school certificate. In 1973, he enrolled at Ebenezer Secondary School, Mamprobi, to pursue his G.C.E ordinary level education, which he completed in 1978. Rev. Quansah was employed at Electricity Corporation of Ghana in February 1979 where he worked as an internal Audit clerk at the Head Office and the Central stores at Circle for two years.

In 1981 he resigned from Electricity Corporation and replaced Professor Frederick Kwesi Kyereko who by then was leaving for Bible School at S.G.B.C now Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, as the sole Accounts Officer in his uncle’s company —Lower Akim wood products ltd.

Prior to his call to Ministry on the 18th February 1979, in the morning by 6:30am, Rev. Quansah gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. He devoted his life to the things of God by attending all-nights on every Friday at Ghana Evangelical Society at Legion Hall, Cultural Centre and Apra House with other Christian youths from the Accra Metropolis. During these times, the Lord directed him to join Assemblies of God, North Kaneshie where he had work for him to do. He initially after Joining the North Kaneshie Church served as an usher for months. He was later appointed as the Church Sunday School Secretary in 1980. This office he served until 1986.

He had the call of God on his life in the year 1985 while he was with the North Kaneshie Assemblies of God, during which he was the acting commander of the Royal Rangers. In 1986 he was asked by Rev. Dr. Harry S.M Insaidoo to help pioneer the Living word Assemblies of God with Rev.  Maxwell Daniel Twenefuor.

In January 1987, he attended the maiden lay workers course in S.G.B.I for two weeks. In this same year, he led a young man who stayed in the same house with him to the saving knowledge of Christ. This young man was Rev. Dr. Freeman Osei-Tete. The young man joined him at Living word Assemblies of God, where he held various capacities of stewardship. Rev. Dr. Freeman Osei-Tete is now the Snr. Pastor of More Than Conquerors Assemblies of God and the Greater Accra West Youth director to God’s glory.

In March 1988 he enrolled at the Southern Ghana Bible Institute now Assemblies of God Theological School sponsored by North Kaneshie Assemblies of God, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Harry Insaidioo. He completed in 1990 with a diploma in Theology. During his studies at the Bible school, he left the Living Word Assemblies of God and joined the Official Town Assemblies of God; the church took care of the family’s medical bills and allowances till he completed.

After he completed the Bible school, Rev. Quansah was posted to Mt. Zion AG at Big Ada as the first pastor by then the church was been manned by a lay worker from 1991 to 1993. In February 1993, Rev. Quansah and family moved to Dodowa where he had been posted to be a stationed pastor. He pastored the church for two years.

In March 1995, Rev. Quansah was brought back to work at the Greater Accra Regional Office under the leadership of the Late Rev. William W. Dontoh. He has served under all the Regional Superintendents, the region has ever had.

While at the Regional Office, Rev. Quansah also pastored the Full Gospel Assemblies of God, Chantan in the Achimota District for four years. This was from the year 2004 to 2008. He returned to the official town Assemblies of God as a supporting pastor and member.

The Glorious Star Assemblies of God, Oshiyie near Bortianor in the Weija district was the brain Child of Rev. Daniel C. Quansah. In the year 2012, he came up with the Church’s name and a pack of letter heads, secured 50 plastic chairs from the Transcontinental Worship Centre led by Rev. Dr. K.K Baisie, now Fountain of Glory. He also secured bags of cements from Rev. Appiah Boachie of the Evangel Assemblies of God and Trinity Temple, Tema Community 11. In the process of securing roofing sheets, he was advised by the Executives of the Greater Accra Regional Office, to hand over the project to the Weija district to avoid stress, he heeded to their council and handed over to the Weija district. This church is thriving and has secured a land for the church building.

He got married to Mrs. Rebecca Naa Borkai Quansah who hails from Adabraka in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. They are blessed with six children; namely Jude Ofei Quansah, Justin Darku Quansah, Josiah Ansah Quansah, Juliet Ofeibea Quansah, Richard Nii Armah Attoh and Clevert Quansah.
