Preamble

• As part of the corporate vision of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, leadership envisions among other things: projecting the image, values, and uniqueness of the Organisation through the establishment of the following multi-media department, TV and Radio programmes among others.

• The establishment of AGTv at such a time as this goes a long way to support the church’s efforts at fulfilling the great commission. Mark 13:10 states, And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

• As William Carey puts it, expect great things from God, attempt great things for God. The leadership of Assemblies of God, Ghana is poised to establish this station latest by June 2021.

Introduction

  • AGTv will be a Ghanaian free-to-air television network. It will be launched in June 2021 by The Assemblies of God, Ghana. It will air and produce a variety of television programmes including gospel music, preaching, sports, news, and news bulletins.
  • It seeks to complement the efforts of the industry players by adding another dimension to Christian broadcasting. Its office will be located within the Assemblies of God Headquarters building.
  • It promises to be a digital entertainment network where you can find, watch and share your favourite original programming from hundreds of leading providers, plus sites like YouTube, Facebook, etc.
  • It will be a licensed Digital Terrestrial Free-To-Air Television Channel (Nationwide Coverage) with a dominant presence in all sixteen regions

The Vision

  • The need for leadership over the years to establish a Tv station has become more compelling in recent times. Therefore, our vision is to reach out to the nations through television and social media.

  • The idea is not to profiteer from this venture, but to promote the work of God, especially in the area of missions.

The Need

• With over 5,000 AG churches across the country and with presence in all regions and districts of Ghana a Tv station owned by, and managed for the church, comes handy in reaching the entire nation for Christ. We believe we have the wherewithal to reach the ends of Ghana and the rest of the world with the Gospel. And this vision will be propelled through the media.

• The station will serve as the fulcrum for:

  1. Spreading the Gospel of Christ through singing, teaching, and preaching
  2. Airing various AG activities and programmes, as well as those of similar organisations
  3. Showcasing various Christian movies and literature
  4. Promoting the activities of the local churches, departments and agencies
  5. Advertising the activities and products of approved corporate entities and agencies.

The location

The AGTv will be located on the 5th floor of the AG Headquarters building on the Ringway Estate, Osu-Accra. From the prime location of the pinnacle of the Headquarters building, the life-transforming WORD of God will be broadcast to the rest of the world. Matthew 28:19, 20 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations….

The Features

The Tv station will have the following features, among others:

• Office space for key personnel

• Server and production rooms

• At least 2 studios

• Various contents within the norms of Scripture

The Activities and Timelines

Space has been provided on the 5th floor of the Headquarters for this purpose. Besides, a lot of work has been done so far to enable us:

 a) Engage consultants and professionals – March, 2021

b) Secure a license from the NCA – Mid-April, 2021

c) Purchase the necessary equipment – 2nd Week in May, 2021

d) Install the equipment – 3rd Week in May, 2021

e) Employ key technical personnel – 3rd Week in May, 2021

f) Test-run the equipment – 4th Week in May, 2021

g) Ensure AGTv comes on air – 1st Week in June, 2021

Partners

We are looking forward to raising partners in three main strategic areas:

• Prayer Partners – who will dedicate their time to pray continuously towards fulfilment of this vision.

• Preaching Partners – who will provide relevant content to be aired at the station in terms of teaching, preaching, and music.

• Funding Partners – who will provide support to get the station in place; and occasionally sponsor some of the programmes of the station.
