The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam who doubles as Board Member of the Church Health Board of World Assemblies of God Fellowship, and his wife, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers Wives Association of the church extended their apostolic visit to the above-mentioned region on Friday 27th October 2023 preceding the induction service of the Regional Superintendent, Rev. Alex Ackaah-Boateng.
The venue was the Higher Grounds Centre of the Assemblies of God church at Sefwi Bekwai. In attendance were widows of pastors and serving and retired ministers and their spouses.
The General Superintendent as his custom on such visits led a four(4) hours non-stop prayer session comprising prayer of thanksgiving and intense worship, intercession, spiritual warfare, and prayer of repentance and re-dedication amongst others. Prayer was offered for churches that needed land to build temples and others who were yet to complete their building projects. Rev. Wengam laid hands on all participants and anointed them with oil while praying for grace and blessings for them to serve in their respective capacities. He also officiated the renewal of marriage/wedding vows for married couples present.
Subsequently, Rev. Wengam preached a sermon titled, “How living in harmony with your neighbour perfects holiness”. He charged Pastors to love one another and unite to fulfill God’s vision of saving souls.
The National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam on her part acknowledged the sacrifices made by retirees and their spouses and the plight of pastors’ widows. She assured them of God’s love and reward and presented various gifts to the aforementioned.
Pastors’ widows and wives of retirees received an undisclosed amount of money and a piece of cloth each while retired ministers were given an undisclosed amount of cash. Some pastors’ widows were overwhelmed with such love extended to them and got emotional. Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam extended the same kindness to all pastors’ Wives present by giving each of them a piece of cloth.
The Regional Superintendent, Rev. Alex Ackaah-Boateng commended the first couple for their historic visit and extension of such kindness to them.
