A retirement service has been held for Rev and Rev.Mrs. Dua Amponsah who until their retirement were the resident Ministers of Victory Valley Chapel AG at Buokrom-Kumasi in the Ashanti North Region. Rev. Kwaku Dua Amponsah and Rev.Mrs. Cecilia Dua Amponsah has been ministers of Assemblies of God, Ghana over the past 28years and 14years respectively. The retirement service was held on 25th March, 2018.
Rev. Dr. John Nkrumah has also retired from active pastoral ministry after 50years of serving Assemblies of God, Ghana. A retirement service was held for him and the family on 6th May, 2018. Until his retirement, he was the Senior Pastor of Bethel Assembly of God at Ayigya-Kumasi in Ashanti-East Region.

PROFILE OF REV. KWAKU DUA AMPONSAH AND REV.MRS. CECILIA DUA AMPONSAH
On the 1st of February 1951, the cry of baby boy was heard for the first time and this boy was destined to be a great man of God. Rev. Kwaku Dua Amponsah was born to Opanin Kwasi Amponsah and Maame Afia Kruwa, all who hailed from Akumadan in the Offinso North, all deceased. He is the fourth child of his siblings. Rev. Kwaku Dua Amponsah had his primary and middle school education at the Methodist school in Akumadan from 1959-1968 where he passed his middle school certificate examination with distinction. He then enrolled in Tepa training college from 1969-1971 and later went to Agona SDA Training College from 1972-1973. He sat for O’Level and had passes in English, Maths, History and Geography. After Training college, he pursued a career as a teacher and taught in state Experimental School, Kumasi from 1973-1979. He then left and continued teaching at University Primary school (KNUST) between 1979 and 1981. He rose to the Assistant Superintendent in the teaching profession.
After receiving the call of God upon his life, he did the work of an evangelist with CPC Fellowship until he went to the Mid Bible College to pursue a Diploma in Theology from 1988-1990. He then served as the senior pastor of Full Gospel Assemblies of God, Ghana, Ahwiaa from 1999-2001. In 1999, as a pioneer Pastor, Rev. Kwaku Dua Amponsah furthered his studies in theology by attending the West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST) in Lome -Togo to pursue a Bachelor degree in theology, which he completed in 2002.
After the degree program, he lectured at the Christian workers Bible School and the Lay workers Bible School of the Ashanti Region Assemblies of God. Rev. Kwaku Dua Amponsah is a man with a lot of experiences. This is exemplified in the number of positions he has held over the years. He has served as the Sunday School Representative of the kwabre Sekyere District, Secretary/Treasurer of the Mamponteng District and served as the secretary of the then Kumasi North District. He held the above mentioned positions for ten (10) consecutive years. He also became the District Pastor of the New Tafo District from 2009-2012. Because of his leadership qualities he possess, shortly after being converted into Christianity in 1974 he was made the Administrative Secretary/Vice President and the Administrator of the CPC Fellowship, all between 1976 and 1987.
In July 1983, he attended Armsterdam’83 organized by Billy Graham Evangelist Association U.S.A for some itinerary Evangelism. God spoke to him in 1991 to look up for a team to hold crusade at Akumadan. Some members of the team consisted of Dr. Oduro Boateng, Lake Society of church of Pentecost, Mrs. Grace Djokoto, Methodist church, Mr. Emmanuel Boateng, The Baptist church, Sister Margaret Opoku (Tete Nyame) of Gospel Light Assemblies of God- Dichemso Branch. Rev. Dua was the organizing secretary for the crusade that was dubbed Akumadan for Christ Crusade. The impact of the crusade is still been felt today at Akumadan. This crusade became a yearly program and was held 3 times in 1992, 1994 and 1996. He has been to La Cote d’voire on three occasions in the 90’s for Christian meetings. He has done literature Evangelism especially tracts distribution for about 30years. He and the wife have also been in the marriage counseling ministry for many years. He has a special ministry towards widows especially those whose husbands were once ministers of God. For his passion for mission, he on many times collect mission items and send them to needy towns and villages especially Mampong and Ejura District in the Ashanti region.
He is married to Rev. Cecilia Dua Amponsah who had her basic education at Roman Girls School – Kumasi m 1960-1968 and later continued at Bantama L.A from 1969-1970. From there, she had her secondary School Education at Kumasi Academy from 1970-1975. Because of the early call of God on her life, she became the chapel prefect of the school for 2 years in Kumasi Academy. After secondary school, she pursued her education at Kumasi Polytechnic from 1975-77. Rev. Mrs. Cecilia Dua Amponsah had her Bible School Education at the Mid Ghana Bible College in 2003-2004, but before that she attended the lay workers School from 1998-2001. She held the position as W/M Rep. from 1991-2000 in Kumasi North District. Rev. kwaku Dua Amponsah met his lovely wife at a gathering of the saints and he got married to Rev. Cecilia Dua Amponsah (formally Cecilia Oduro) on the 29th of May 1977 at Wesley College Assembly Hall.
Until his retirement, he was the Senior Pastor of victory valley Chapel Assemblies of God, a thriving church in Buokrom – Asikafoamantem community and he was doing what the grace of GOD has made him love to do most, which is shepherding.
They are blessed with Six gifted and talented children, Akwasi Dua Amponsah — Graphic Designer – Accra. He is married and also blessed with four (4) kids. Lawyer Yaw Adubofour holds Masters in Oil/Gas Huston Texas, U.S.A. Kwame Mensah Bonsu- worked at strategic Communications in Accra and also a student of SGBC at Saltpond. Kwame Owusu Ansah- works at TV3 Accra. Abigail Dua Boateng, student at University of Education, Kumasi Campus. Adelaide Dua Amponsah currently doing her Masters’ Program at Dunchee University in Scotland, U.K.
PROFILE OF REV.DR. JOHN RICHARD NKRUMAH
The Lord said to Jeremiah “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and 1 ordained you a prophet unto the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5.).
Rev. John Richard Nkrumah was born at Fufuo, a town in Ghana near Barekese at Atwima Nwabiagya district in the Ashanti region. He was born on Monday 25th December, 1950 to Opanin Kwabena Nkrumah and Obaapanin Ama Serwaah who were both farmers. In 1956, Rev Nkrumah began his basic education at Fufuo Methodist L/A primary school. He continued to middle school for four years from 1963 to 1967. After completing middle school, his love for farming led him to enroll in an agricultural college to further his education but his love for the Bible and God’s work made him drop his agricultural pursuit and opted for a Bible College education.
Rev. Nkrumah got converted at a tender age of eight. After his conversion, he started having a particular dream. This dream reoccurred for months. In the dream, Rev. Nkrumah saw himself on a poultry farm providing feed to the poultry birds. He ensured their safety and good health. Later, the birds turned into humans as he stood to minister to them. In the night, Rev Nkrumah was frightened and much disturbed in his spirit and didn’t know what to do.
In January 1968, a white missionary from Assemblies of God called Rev. Richard Kenneth Krake came to Fufuo for a mission work. By the grace of God, Rev. Nkrumah had the opportunity to tell him about the dream. The dream was interpreted and Rev. John Richard Nkrumah realized that his work was not to be a poultry farmer but a preacher of the Gospel. At the age of sixteen (16), Rev. Nkrumah made a bold decision to respond to the call of God. On the 22nd of March 1968, Rev. Nkrumah enrolled in the Southern Ghana Bible Institute, Saltpond and graduated in 1970.
As a Bible student, Rev. John Richard Nkrumah worked under Rev. Thomas Sarpong. Rev. Thomas Sarpong was a Senior Presbyter who was presiding over eleven churches. Upon his completion, Rev. Nkrumah was first posted to Techimantia in the Asunafo south district. He was not just an ordinary pastor but a Church planter, a visionary, and a revivalist. He planted the Derma Church and revived the Kofikrom Church. The towns he ministered in include the following; Techimantia, Tuobodom, Aborfour, Darso and Kyebi in the Ashanti region. He also ministered in Nsuta Nkwabirem in the Sekyere district, Mamponteng in the Kwabre District and Ayigya in the Oforikrom district.
Rev. John Richard Nkrumah’s great ministry saw him being instrumental in planting churches in Derma AG, Nkenkasu AG, Kyebi AG, Nsuta AG, Kwapanin AG, Darso AG, Jamasi AG, Ayigya Ahembronum AG, Boadi AG, Aprade AG, Mampong AG, Atonsu AG, Kwamang AG, Wade Adwumakasi AG, Dwumanafour AG, Bampenase AG, Fawode AG, Adum Nhyiaeso AG, Living way AG, Tuobodom AG and Techiman AG. Though his ministry was basically in the Ashanti region, Rev. Nkrumah also made trips to distant areas like Domaa Ahenkro, Berekum, Yeji and Sampa in the Brong Ahafo region. In the Eastern region, his mission trip took him to Donkorkrom, Nkawkaw, Akwasiho and Akyem Tafo.
On the international front, Rev Dr. John Richard Nkrumah made mission trips to some of the cities in Germany, Italy, Holland, Belgium, France, Scotland, USA, Spain, Australia, Den Hague, United Kingdom, and Canada. Also, Rev, Nkrumah had the opportunity to visit Turkey and Israel. Apart from ministry to the church, Rev Dr. John Richard Nkrumah has also served as a counselor to many people including pastors, opinion leaders and some politicians. He has also being a regular contributor to the Trust newspaper. He has given his opinions on matters pertaining to national issues in the TRUST Newspaper on regular basis.
In Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev Dr. John Richard Nkrumah has served in the following capacities. He served as:

Area Organizer from 1982 to 1988.
Sectional Secretary (OKESS) for a year and half- 1988.
Acting Presbyter (As a District Pastor as the time).
Mid Ghana District Treasurer under the mid-Ghana District Council from 1990 to 1997.

Arbitration Committee Member.
Ashanti Regional Treasurer from 1997 to 2014.
Ashanti East Regional Treasurer from 2014 to 2018.

Through his encouragement and advice, a lot of people have entered into the ministry directly or indirectly including Rev. Tony Goldwyn Amoakohene (Ashanti East Superintendent), Rev. Gyasi-(Asante Akyem District pastor), Rev. Nana Ghartey- (Manipong District Pastor), Rev. Gyekye- (Associate pastor, Ayigya), Rev. Mrs. Christiana Obour (Apemso AG), Rev. Michael Ntim (Wade Adwumakase), Prophet Gyamfi (USA), Rev. Joshua Woode (Gospel Centre AG), etc.
After completing the Bible school at the age of 22, Rev. Nkrumah met her wife Mrs. Georgina Nkrumah during a convention in 1968. One of Georgina’s most important ministries to the husband was intercession. Georgina is a perfect match for him. She possesses a wonderful sense of humour, has keen judgment, a strong faith in God and a deep spiritual sensitivity. The two loved each other dearly and got married on 22nd September 1973 at Aborfour AG Church. God has blessed them with four children. They are; Mad. Kate Asare, Deacon Francis Frimpong, Ps.Mrs. Christiana Obour, and finally Master Emmanuel Osei Bonsu (Currently studying in Abroad).
Rev.Dr. Richard Nkrumah is the longest serving Executive Council (E.C.) officer in the Assemblies of God, Ghana. He has served with dedication, humility, loyalty and sacrifice. He has served in various positions since 1975 till his retirement. Rev. Nkrumah has been in the ministry for fifty (50) years spending over 22 years at Ayigya until his retirement.
