President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Paul Frimpong- Manso, has urged prophets in the country to desist from prophesying the outcome of the 2020 election. He explained that, prophecies by prophets and some pastors before elections only bring about fears as well as tension in the country which must not be entertained.
“Let’s face reality, your prophecies create tension and fears in the country. It hinders development,” he noted.


In an interview with GPCC News Team Rev. Frimpong -Manso called on other ecumenical including Christian Council of Ghana, Catholic Secretariat among other Christian bodies to deal with such prophets. He advised politicians not to fall for prophesies rather work hard so they win votes of electorates.

Commitment to curb false prophecies
“We reaffirm our commitment to work together with other ecumenical to deal with the proliferation of false prophets and their false as well as alarming prophecies, which have in recent times and ahead of the 2020 general elections become a source of concern not only to Ghanaians, but to the Council as well,” he said.


The President noted that, in as much as the Council believes strongly in the biblical doctrines of prophecies and miracles as signs of the workings of the Holy Spirit in Christian lives and the Church, “he wanton abuse and manipulation of the sound doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ by these charlatans for their egocentric interests ought to be exposed and condemned by the majority and genuine Christians”.

As already forewarned by the Lord Jesus Christ that in the last days many false prophets shall arise, Rev. Frimpong-Manso said it has become the responsibility once again, to warn all Ghanaians and particularly the Church of the activities of these charlatans. “We must return to the study of the unadulterated Word of God as the surest way of countering these false prophets.

Road Accidents
Touching on the alarming increases in road traffic accidents during any election year, Rev. Frimpong- Manso expressed worry over recent accidents in the country, describing the development as unfortunate, calling on stakeholders to curb the phenomenon.


The revered man of God pleaded with the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) to assert their authority on the various highways to help minimise accidents.
