Rev. Evangelist Paul Brako and Mrs. Veronica Anom Brako were officially retired from active pastoral service in Assemblies of God, Ghana on Sunday 11th August, 2019 at Koforidua Central AG after serving meritoriously for 32 years.
The service was officiated by Rev. Stephen Narh, the Eastern Region ‘A’ Superintendent with the assistance from the Regional Secretary and some senior ministers from the Region.
Rev. Paul Brako was called into full time ministry of the Assemblies of God, Ghana in 1984 and started his theological training at the southern Ghana Bible College (currently, Assemblies of God Theological Seminary), and completed in 1987. Before Rev Brako responded to full time ministerial work, he was persuaded by Deacon Atta, one-time co-worker at NOVOTEX who was a deacon at Mpraeso Love Assembly to go to Nteso AG to assist in the building of that church; a move he obliged. He later accompanied the late Rev. Daniel Boakye to start local churches at the Afram Plains including Donkorkrom, Tease and Forifori, thereby exposing his gift as a church planter.
In third year at the Bible College, Rev. Brako was asked to take care of the Akim Asafo church. After Bible School, he was stationed at Maase to pioneer the Mampong-Akuapem church in 1989. He later became the zonal (now District) pastor with Rev. Rtd. Steven Okantey as the secretary. Together they established churches at Kitase, Agyamati, Akropong and later, Apreade. He also assisted the Adukrom churches to grow in the 1990s.
In 1994, Rev. Paul Brako was called into fulltime evangelism work and he moved to Koforidua. He assisted in the planting of the following local assembly at Akorabo, Gyato, Otwebediadua and Saati, all in Suhum District of the Assemblies of God, Ghana. He also assisted in the establishment of the Gyamase local in the Nsuta District.
Speaking at the service, Evangelist Aboagye Forson who spoke on the theme “Exhortation for Godly Worker” with a text from 1 Corinthians 15:58, explained that Evangelist Brako has finished what he called “organizational set-up work” but has not laid down his godly work. He encouraged the pastors and the congregation gathered to be steadfast and strong in the Lord. He further asked believers to be firm and always prepare the mind for action. He stated that Christians must not be moved by any circumstance and should also excel in the work of God.
The Regional Secretary, Rev Awinzor on behalf of the National Pension Scheme presented a package from the scheme to Rev Brako.
The event was also graced by number of active and retired ministers from the region and outside the region.
