The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, USA, Dr. Douglas Edward Clay has presented motorbikes to Assemblies of God, Ghana for the Vision 3000 program of the Church. The presentation was done on behalf of First Assemblies of God, Garland, Texas in the U.S.A.
Dr. Clay was in the country to assist in the dedication of the newly built headquarters complex i.e. The Great Commision house of the Assemblies of God, Ghana. During the presentation, he prayed that God will help the beneficiaries to achieve the goals of winning more souls to the church. He was very excited about the progress made by the Vision 3000 program and encouraged the members and pastors present to continue their in their relentless effort in planting churches.
In 2014, the leadership of Assemblies of God, Ghana launched missions program christened “Vision 3000”. By Vision 3000, the organization is expected to plant at least 3000 local churches in five years (2014 -2019) and the projection was that every Region was to plant at least 30 churches in a month. It was presumed by many to be very cumbersome and daunting task or one of those ‘unachievable’ programs which was not going to survive the test of time. However, pastors and members of the churches assimilated the vision of the leadership and set out for its implementation.
The Assemblies of God, USA has seen this great vision and resolved to assist by providing money for 20 bikes. 13 were presented during an occasion at the headquarters premise.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso who received the bikes on behalf of the church thanked the USA church for their kind gesture. He further handed the motorbikes to the beneficiary regions and advised them to use it for the purpose of which they were donated.
Other dignitaries present during the presentation were the the Assistant General Superintendent – Rev. Dr. Paul Henry Dsane, the wife of the General Superintendent – Rev. Mrs. Gladys Frimpong-Manso, General Secretary – Rev. Dr. Kwame Bansah, Executive Presbytery members, the Director of Operations at the headquarters, Rev. Dr. Abraham Obeng-Amoako and other Pastors.
The beneficiary Regions also thanked the Assemblies of God, U.S.A for such a kind gesture towards reaching the unreached in the country.
