Central Assemblies of God, Tema Community 4, in a colourful ceremony, celebrated its fiftieth anniversary on Sunday 2nd December at its auditorium.

The ceremony, organized on the theme; “50 years of transformed lives” was attended by government officials, including the Tema Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Felix Nii Annan Narh, who represented the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, and the MP for Tema Central, Hon. Kofi Brago.

Also in attendance were the top hierarchy of the Assemblies of God, Ghana; Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong Manso (General Superintendent), Rev. Dr. Sam Ato Bentil (General Treasurer), and Rev. Dr. Kwame Bismark Bansah (General Secretary). The District Pastor for Tema Central, Rev. Kojo Nissi Diafo and a host of clergymen graced the occasion with their presence.

Notable dignitaries present were; Mr. and Mrs. Haddock, daughter of the first Missionary Rev. and Mrs. Bob Cobb, and the some family members of the late Rev. Nyamila Panka , the first ingenious AG General Superintendent and generations of other early founding clergy and leading members of the church.

As part of highlights in the celebration, the auditorium was named after Rev. E. J. Nyamyela Panka, the first Ghanaian General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, for his immense contribution in leading the transformation of the Assemblies of God, Ghana to its current enviable position.

Cladded in their anniversary cloth, members, both young and old filled the auditorium to capacity, praised and worshiped the Lord for His goodness and mercy, and for leading the Community 4 Central AG safely to its “Rehoboth” – enough room for further expansion.
