Rev. Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam


Rev. Dr Stephen Y. Wengam is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, and hails from Paknatik in the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri district in the northern region of Ghana.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

He holds a Diploma in Theology from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, North East campus, Kumbungu, BSc. Admin (Marketing option) from the University of Ghana, a certificate in Corporate Governance from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a Master of Theology Degree from the International Theological Seminary, U.S.A., and a Diploma in Christian Clinical Counselling from same. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree by the Pan African Clergy Council.

HUMBLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Senior Resident Pastor of Citi 97.3FM, a privately owned radio station in Accra, up until 2022. He hosted the programme, “This Is Your Day”, a family morning devotion programme that runs from Monday to Saturday, from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 am. Rev. Wengam is the immediate past Chairman of the Ghana Prisons Service Council. He was appointed by H.E. John Dramani Mahama, during his tenure as President of the Republic of Ghana. Through the visionary leadership of Rev. Wengam, the Sixth Prisons Council launched a ten-year Strategic Plan and a Self-Help Project christened “Project Efiase,” where they solicited public and private sector support to transform Ghana Prisons into centers of excellence.

He also served as a member of the Fifth Prisons Council from 2009-2013. Rev. Wengam serves as a member of the Citi Fm Foundation Board. As the West Africa Executive Coordinator of Global Leadership Training, U.S.A, he has coordinated conferences for civic, corporate, political, religious, and emerging leaders since 2008. He is highly regarded as a spiritual mentor and coach to political, civic, and corporate leaders, and is the author of the bestselling book, 365 Prayer Missiles.

Under his visionary leadership and as lead pastor of Cedar Mountain, East Legon, the church was adjudged Global Council Assemblies of God USA 2022. He has travelled wide and visited countries in Asia, Europe, North and South America, the Middle East, and Africa, to preach, and in some instances, perform special assignments.

HIS FAMILY

Rev. Wengam is married to Monica. They are blessed with two children, Ithra Yenupiini Fremah and Matthew-King Baanan.

CURRENT ROLES

In August 2022, he was overwhelmingly elected General Superintendent of the 91-year-old Assemblies of God, Ghana. Superintending over 6,022 churches and over 690,000 members.

He is the Founding/Lead Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel, East Legon, a thriving branch of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.
